Subject: SLS Conference - Tort Section - Call for Papers

Dear All,

This is a call for papers for the Tort Section of the annual conference of the Society of Legal Scholars (UK). I would welcome proposals for papers on any theme relating to the law of tort, and especially those addressing this year's Conference theme, "The Impact of Legal Scholarship".

The 2008 Annual SLS Conference will take place on 15th-18th September 2008 at the London School of Economics. The Tort subject section will meet during the second half of the conference, with two sessions on Wednesday 17th September and two on Thursday 18th September. I anticipate that each session will consist of two papers, each followed by general discussion.

If you are interested in presenting a paper please e-mail me (Ken.Oliphant@bris.ac.uk) by Monday 3 March. At this stage I need only your proposed title and a short summary, but you should note that all conference speakers will be expected to submit a full version of their paper to the Conference Paperbank by Monday 8th September.

Convenors have been asked to make it clear to potential speakers that they have to book and pay to attend the conference.

If you have submitted, or are intending to submit, a paper to another section, please could you let me know when submitting your Tort proposal.

Please also see the President's letter.

Information about the prize to be awarded to the best conference paper will appear on the website in due course.

Best wishes,

Ken Oliphant
Convenor, Tort Section
