Subject: Human Rights and Tort Law: Privacy and Remedies against Public Bodies

Dear all,

I am involved in a Colloquium to be held in Oxford on June 17th (in the afternoon). The theme is the recent developments in the interplay between The European Human Rights Convention and national tort law. More specifically we will mainly discuss privacy-related issues, although I think that my presentation will be more on a general level on the importance of tort law to promote a human rights discourse in a society (Sweden) which has been sceptical towards the idea of "rights" altogether.

At this time we are five people that will present papers, or, rather, outlines of papers, and we hope that this will eventually lead to some sort of publication. I know time is short but it would be interesting to hear more input on this issue. If someone would like to attend or perhaps even present something, send me an e-mail.

Best regards
Mårten
