Subject: Interference with property
In Welton v North Cornwall District Council [1997] 1 WLR 570 a duty of care was found where an environmental health officer imposed (ultra vires) unnecessary requirements and threatened to close a guest house (which prepared food) down, causing unnecessary expense in complying with the unnecessary requirements.
Seems not dissimilar to me.

Subject: ODG: interference with property It does seem odd that there is no claim. Could a negligence claim be put forward? Through his negligence the government official completely sterilized the use of the ship which is one of the entitlements of the owner.
