Dear ODG members,

Just a friendly reminder that the Call for Papers for the Fifth Biennial Canadian Law of Obligations Conference (CLO V) remains open, with two weeks left until the submission deadline.

The conference will take place May 28-29, 2026, at the Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC, and will explore the theme:

"Dissenting Voices in Canadian Private Law"

We welcome abstracts from scholars at all career stages, including graduate students and post-doctoral researchers. Submissions may relate to the conference theme or address other topics in the law of obligations, including torts, contracts, trusts, restitution, unjust enrichment, and remedies. Both completed papers and works in progress are welcome.

Key Dates:

  • Notification of Decisions: November 30, 2025

Please submit your abstract via the conference website: www.cdnobligations5.ca

We are honoured to welcome two keynote speakers:

  • Chief Justice Ron A. Skolrood, Supreme Court of British Columbia

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at CLOV@tru.ca.

Please do share this reminder with colleagues, graduate students, and early career scholars who may be interested in participating.

Looking forward to receiving your proposals!

Warm regards,
