Subject: RE: Prof
Andrew Robertson appointed Edward Jenks Chair in Private Law at Melbourne Law
School
Dear Colleagues,
Many congratulations indeed
to Andrew, who has demonstrated service to and leadership of our discipline of
private law, with excellent scholarship, investment in teaching, and his
creation and curation of the Obligations Conference series.
The Jenks Chair is a
distinguished title - as well as Edward Jenks' contributions to numerous
institutions in England and Australia, he was a pivotal figure in the founding
of what was then the Society of Public Teachers of Law and is now the Society
of Legal Scholars, serving as its first Honorary Secretary for a decade, and
then as President in 1919-20.
Very best wishes,
Jamie
