Subject: [RDG] Prof. Gareth Jones QC LLD FBA, 1930-2016

I write with the sad news that Professor Gareth Jones, who contributed so much and in so many ways to the law of restitution as well as other fields, passed away on 2 April. There is a note with some tributes on the site of Trinity College, of which he became a fellow in 1961:

No doubt there will be many other tributes and obituaries in the coming days. 
As one of his many students, in my case as long ago as 1989, I retain warm memories of his lightning-quick mind, and his equally quick, but always gentle, wit.
