Thank you, Professor Smith.

I believe that this of great benefit to this Group.

This will also be of great benefit to my book which I have been writing for a period exceeding five years on the Law of Equity.

The Law of Equity is, of course, of profound morality, and is a subject of the Law which I hope will be expanded, and not curtailed, in the interests of our democracies.

My best to you.

Greetings to all,

Congratulations to Dennis Klimchuk, Irit Samet, and Henry Smith on the publication of Philosophical Foundations of the Law of Equity (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2020). This substantial volume contains 17 essays representing a diversity of perspectives. More detail is here,

and the book is available in Oxford Scholarship Online for those who have access (especially precious these days).

What is the connection to restitution? Well, we all know that Lord Mansfield said that the action for money had and received was based on equity..
