Celebrating Charles Mitchell and his outstanding career: The Heart of Equity
RDG members will be very interested to know that on 17-18 September
2026, an international conference will be held at the Faculty of Laws, UCL, to
mark the retirement of Professor Charles Mitchell KC (Hon) FBA from UCL and to
celebrate his extraordinary record of scholarship.
No one on this list needs to be told of the significance of Charles
Mitchell's contributions to private law over the last several decades,
particularly in relation to the law of equity and trusts, to the law of unjust
enrichment, and to modern legal history. The 21 speakers at this conference
will engage with many of the ground-breaking ideas in Charles' work, through a
collection of papers focused on equity that reflect some of his wide-ranging
scholarly interests.
The conference web site is here.
I hope to see many RDG members at the event!
With
my best wishes,
Lionel
