It seems to me that estoppel and COP are similar doctrines, and so can be viewed in a similar way, other than the issue that the implicit representation (over payment) must be reasonably expected. You can't just retire because your overdraft has been wiped out and you find 1 million in your bank when you don't work.

Can anyone name a good book (Or internet case law) on UK legal negligence as it relates to failure to read the file and finding causes of action?
