Colleagues might like to know that the memorial service for Peter Birks will take place on Saturday, 20th November 2004 in The University Church of St Mary the Virgin. I do not yet know the precise time, and will let you know when I do, but it is in the afternoon. If past experience is anything to go by, it will probably be either 2 or 2.30 pm.
