To say they opened Live 8 might be a trifle excessive.
They were just the backing group.
-----Original Message----- Hi there,
For those of you who missed it, U2
(a moderately famous Dublin four-piece rock band) this week successfully
sued a former stylist for the return of items of clothing and other
memorabilia. The case turned simply on whether the band members retained
title to the items, and having held that title did not pass from them
to her, the court
ordered the return of the items to them. The case turned on the
facts; there was little legal argument, and none on the question of
the existence or otherwise of a vindicatio to support the plaintiffs'
claims (in Ireland, plaintiffs are still called plaintiffs and not claimants);
and the court was entirely untroubled by nice questions of whether there
was a legal remedy allowing an order for the return of the items.
As for U2's other public appearances
during the currency of the case: see the gig of the century in Dublin,
apparently (but, although I failed to get tickets, I'm not bitter) and
opening
Live8 on Saturday. <== Previous message Back to index Next message ==> |
