The annual conference of the Society of Legal Scholars
will be held at the University of Durham from 10-13 September. For further
details, watch the SLS website.
The Restitution section will hold four session during
10-11 September. Each session will last 90 minutes. Speakers are expected
to submit drafts of their papers by the end of July, so that the papers
can be read in advance. Speakers normally speak for 20 minutes on their
paper, leaving the bulk of the time for discussion. In order to keep down
the costs of the conference, all those attending the conference (including
the speakers) are expected to obtain their own funding for attendance
at the conference. Offers to speak are welcomed and should be made as
soon as possible to the convener at: Francis.Rose@bristol.ac.uk.
Those contemplating speaking may like to give some thought
to two particular points this year:
1. The SLS President is encouraging subject sessions
to endeavour to fit in with a theme of the main conference and to devote
one of their sessions, if possible, to the contribution to their subject
area of Baroness (Brenda) Hale of Richmond.
2. It is proposed that a prize will be awarded to the
best paper delivered at the conference.
I look forward to hearing from would-be speakers.
