Subject: Remoteness in Contract

Dear Colleagues:

The new HL decision in Jackson v. Royal Bank of Scotland has an interesting discussion of remoteness in contract. I especially like the speech of Lord Walker who emphasizes the importance of finding a reasonable characterisation of risk rather than merely applying Hadley as a statutory text (see para. 46).
